Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 26th day of the 9th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6018 Anno Mundi.

The Spring Sabbaths begin in 15 weeks and one day with the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread, the 15th day of the 1st month (Sunday, April 5th on the 2015, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Saturday, April 4th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates for determining the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is one day early.

I was listening to Ty Gibson give a presentation on the Law of God. I cringed because I knew there would be some confusion in what he said because the Seventh-day Adventist denomination is confused on the subject. When he used the phrase "New Covenant", I was disturbed because I know the phrase is often misused.

The sum total of what he said was quite accurate and good because he didn't go too far in what he said. However, the dangerous confusion of "New" remained. The danger is that the denomination teaches that new means replace and opens the door to discarding part of God's Law. Ty never said this but many listeners would make this assumption. This assumption is at the basis of the denominations teachings on the "Law".

My study of the Bible leads me to the belief that the Bible teaches there is only one covenant. I began talking about this in the 2007-01-21 newsletter "The Two Covenants" and continued in the 2010-04-16 newsletter "Everlasting Covenant". I will extend these discussions.

The problem has its roots in the definition of the word "New". Words in the English language have an awkward mixture of precision and multiple meanings. I selected these two entries from a dictionary. The first represents the concept that "New" is a replacement.

1. having but lately come to a place, position, status, etc.: "a reception for our new minister."

The second represents the concept that "new" is a refresh of what has already been.

2. coming or occurring afresh; further; additional: "new gains."

Strong's G2537 says "new (especially in freshness)".

Sometimes, I will replace the traditional titles of "Old" Testament and "New" Testament with something more accurate, in my opinion. I sometimes will refer to these traditional separations of God's Word as the "Original" Testament and the "Renewed" Testament. There is nothing "old" to be discarded in the Original Testament. There is nothing truly "new" in the Renewed Testament. A large amount of the Renewed Testament is only a fresh restatement of what is in the Original Testament.

The Renewed Testament contains a lot of enhancement and clarification of what has already been said. There is also a "Present Truth" correction to the misconceptions of the time. "Present Truth" is always specific to the confusions of a specific time period. Twenty-first Century Present Truth is not the same as in the Twentieth Century or the Nineteenth Century. The Renewed Testament also adds details to truths that were already stated in the Original Testament. Even the prophecies of Revelation are often repeats of earlier prophecies with additional detail.

The emphasis of "new" is often misused to mean that we "replace" something that needs to be discarded. This is right in line with Satan's deceptions to change and replace God's truth with lies and distortions. He diverts the focus from God to himself by seducing us into his pattern of pride and selfishness.

Isaiah 14:12-15
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Do you believe any part of God's Law is ever discarded or replaced?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
