Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 24th day of the 12th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6019 Anno Mundi. The Spring Sabbaths begin in two weeks and six days with the first yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread, God's New Year's Day, on the 15th day of the 1st month (Thursday, March 24th of the 2016, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Wednesday, March 23rd). On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction and the Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month later next year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is also a month later. Do you recognize the recent theme of struggle? Robin responds to my previous email included in last week's newsletter illustrating a common problem with communication. _____ Dear Frank My mention of finishing the work is in the light of so much planning to be seen as a solution to extending the work, while not dealing with the fundamental causes of the delay. I am not being proud or boastful. I am asking for real consideration to be given to what is necessary for the finishing of the work, which means primarily that it must fill our own life and we must pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit's power upon us individually and collectively. Meanwhile, as God is restoring His complete truth to His last time people, we are told the law of God must be restored to its rightful place. So many blessings are promised to those who meditate on the law day and night, as their lives are changed into harmony with all of God's will, and they thus glorify His holy name. May our Lord restore you to full health and strength in His service. Robin _____ I replied: Dear Robin, I hope I did not sound critical for that is not my intent. Forgive me. My concern is for our perspective to be carefully considered. Clear communication is my constant struggle and I suspect it is the same for all of us. Your refinement of you statement correctly addresses the real problem. We need to be prepared ourselves before we can truly help others. Many think they are prepared but they are not, as our Savior said: Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I have a saying. John 16:13 (FTCABE) _____ Clear communication is a difficult problem in this world of sin. There is so much uncertainty and doubt about meaning and intent. Doubt is a dangerous and troubling feeling (thought?). I discussed this topic broadly in the 2012-06-15 newsletter/blog "Faith, Evidence, and Doubt". A most significant statement from EGW from that newsletter. "Satan is at hand to suggest a variety of doubts". Satan makes it difficult to have faith and trust in God and in each other. As a writer (wordsmith), I struggle to understand how words will be understood to effectively communicate my thoughts. A dictionary gives the primary meaning of a wordsmith as "an expert in the use of words". I am uncomfortable with the word "expert" but a secondary meaning is "a person, as a journalist or novelist, whose vocation is writing". I am comfortable with that. We all have different backgrounds so we understand things in different ways. One of the significant disconnects I have noticed in my communication with others is that I quickly shift in my responses from discussing specifics in the focus of the current discussion to discussing related general principles in the broader context of the issues being discussed. This makes it sound like I am critical of a person for their specific words, when I have shifted to discussing general principles related to what they are saying. I have a sense our Savior did the same thing in what we have recorded of His words. In a broader context the problem of clear communication applies to all the Bible. One of the conclusions I have made is that all Bible translations are influenced by the theological context of the translator. I came to this conclusion while researching and studying Biblical Hebrew to understand the name of God. The details of my thoughts from my study are included in the published books, including the seventh book, "Word of IAUA" currently being written and edited. It is pre-published online (http://www.wordiaua.info) as it is being developed. The idea of creating my own Bible translation would have seemed ridiculous a few years ago but my studies have led me to that exact task. I still struggle with the apparent absurdity and the actual enormity of that task. I may never finish that task. Few understand that even the "original Hebrew text" of the Textus Receptus used as the basis for most translations is actually, in a sense, a Masoretic translation of the true "original" text. The original text is there but it is marked with vowel points that actually result in an interpretation of the original text. When the vowel points are removed you find subtle changes in word meaning. This is a deep subject, which is addressed in my book! Do not make the mistaken assumption that I am criticizing the Masoretic text. Their intent was to make the unusual and difficult Biblical Hebrew clearer and more like later languages (as well as hide a correct speaking of the name of God). I am saying there are small and subtle interpretations that are made by the text that result in slight confusions of the original meaning. These are readily overcome by careful study of the entire Bible context and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is why it is dangerous to base a teaching on a single verse. You must interpret any verse in the Bible by the entire context of the Bible. THis of course means that you need to have actuallY read all the Bible and studied it deeply. The same idea applies to all Bible translations. I accept them all because I believe in the absolute power of God to preserve His Word sufficient for our guidance, when we study carefully as He directs, guided by the Holy Spirit. People who pick gnats with various translations are in danger of doing the work of Satan to destroy the faith of their audience. Claiming any translation is bad or better is a foolish mistake. I apologize for stepping on any toes with my statements. Consider carefully what I am saying. We can communicate properly to each other when we make the effort, practicing sympathy, understanding, and love as the Bible directs us. Do you believe in the power of God to preserve His communication to us and lead us to effective communication? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
