Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 17th day of the 1st month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6021 Anno Mundi.

The Spring Sabbaths continue with the second Sabbath of Unleavened Bread in 3 days on the 21st day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 18th of the 2017, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Monday, April 17th).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is a day early.

The work of communication can often lead to unexpected confusion. I have spoken often of the many confusions and difficulties on this sinful earth. I have a saying I repeat often, in different forms, in many different situations. "Confusion abounds. Expect it, plan for it, tolerate it, be patient."

Particularly in the area of religion, Satan delights to tempt us with opportunities for deception and confusion. Even our Savior was often misunderstood because people hear what they want to hear under the deception of Satan. I sent an email to a newsletter reader.

I was reading the latest newsletter to my wife, which was composed of our email. In the process I realized that my email may have sounded slightly critical. She knew and I suspect you knew that my slightly negative thoughts were not speaking about you personally but general people and principles. I often read my email responses to her before I send them so that I get the opportunity to see them from a different perspective. The same with my newsletters. She is a valuable gift from God to help me smooth and temper my words to a fine precision. I am not perfect but I try to be a clear communicator.

Let me assure you of that which I suspect you already know full well. I am deeply honored to know you and communicate with one who has stepped far beyond the limits of Adventism and is truly seeking to follow our Savior completely. You are a source of great comfort and encouragement to me. When I am discouraged by all those around me who are not interested in greater truth, you are one of the rare shining lights that encourage me.

We all struggle. I struggle. It "blows my mind" to read that even He struggled. So struggle is a part of this life of sin. The struggle will soon be over when the end of this world of sin comes. I look forward to our singing together on the sea of glass.

I attended an SDA Church on the Oregon coast last Sabbath. The minister, among his remarks and in tandem with the SS lesson, said that, in our need to "be prepared for the Second Coming, need to pay attention to Malachi 4: vss 5 and 6. Afterward, he asked if anyone had any questions about his sermon (a very interesting idea, indeed). A lady raised her hand. She said: "Pastor, how come you did not read verse 4 where it says that we are to "remember YE the law of Moses, My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments?"

His answer was telling: "Thank you for the question, but I was not talking about that."

I felt like he was separating the word, "ye," from the word, "you" in verse 5. Then, it dawned on me that, verse 4 contains God's command to remember the statutes and judgments, listed in Exodus 21, 22 and 23. "They include not only the weekly Sabbath, but the yearly feasts and Sabbaths. as well.

Do you think Adventist ministers, like so many others of other denominations, try to say that God was talking only to the Jews in verse 4, while speaking to "Christians" in verses 5 and 6?

I responded:

It is sad that people can read the words in the Bible and ignore the context. :-) This is a good example. It is sad that they can come up with all kinds of excuses not to do what God says. This has a long history recorded from Moses to Paul including our Savior.

Deuteronomy 29:4 Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear.

Isaiah 6:10 “Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.”

Isaiah 32:3 Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, And the ears of those who hear will listen.

Jeremiah 5:21 ‘Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see; Who have ears but do not hear.

Ezekiel 12:2 “Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

Ezekiel 40:4 The man said to me, “Son of man, see with your eyes, hear with your ears, and give attention to all that I am going to show you; for you have been brought here in order to show it to you. Declare to the house of Israel all that you see.”

Ezekiel 44:5 The Lord said to me, “Son of man, mark well, see with your eyes and hear with your ears all that I say to you concerning all the statutes of the house of the Lord and concerning all its laws; and mark well the entrance of the house, with all exits of the sanctuary.

Matthew 13:15-16 For the heart of this people has become dull, With their ears they scarcely hear, And they have closed their eyes, Otherwise they would see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return, And I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.

Mark 8:18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember,

Acts 28:27 For the heart of this people has become dull, And with their ears they scarcely hear, And they have closed their eyes; Otherwise they might see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart and return, And I would heal them.”’

Romans 11:8 just as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, Eyes to see not and ears to hear not, Down to this very day.”

It continues to this day also. I am not even going to begin to try to decipher what excuses they have or might use. I just practice the truth and share the truth as He commanded.

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The struggle continues...

How hard do you work to communicate and understand effectively?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
