The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 1st day of the 7th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6021 Anno Mundi.

The Fall Sabbaths begin today with Trumpets Sabbath on the 1st day of the 7th month (Friday, September 22nd of the 2017, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Thursday, September 21st).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is a day early.

My wife was reading the Bible and she read a verse to me that she did not understand.

Psalms 32:6 (NIV) Therefore let every one who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.

Note that the NIV goes through periodic revisions as do all active or "living" Bible translations, including the KJV. Your version might read a little differently.

I read it carefully with a prayer that God would lead me to see the deep truth of His Word.

I told her that it is saying that those who wait until the last minute to seek God would not find Him and be protected by Him. I continued meditating on the words and I realized that this verse confirms something that has troubled me for a long time.

I have heard many stories of deathbed confessions and conversions. There is also the idea that many people come to God in a disaster but forget about Him again when it is over. I have been troubled by the apparent inconsistency of someone who waits to the last desperate minute to "follow" God and those who believe in this last minute "conversion".

Now, we need to consider the "confession" or "conversion" of the "thief" on the cross.

The first thing I note is that he was not a thief or whatever in the modern sense. He was primarily crucified because he rebelled against Roman rule. He was quite likely a Hebrew follower of the Law of Moses who used methods that are not truly according to the Law of Moses. Many godly people do things that are not actually according to the beliefs they claim to practice.

He recognized his Savior at a time when he no longer had the ability to continue to follow Him in life. I am certain that he would have been faithful and true to his Savior, if he was allowed to continue to live.

Secondly, God knows the heart and He makes the decision about who is honest or serious and who was caught unprepared and made a last minute "confession" of belief.

It is absolutely clear, in God's own words:

Jeremiah 29:13 "You will seek me and find me, when you will search for me with all your heart."

Will you wait until the last minute to seek God with all your heart?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
