Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 14th day of the 3rd month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi.

The spring Holy Day season has passed. The fall Holy Day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 15 weeks and 1 day on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sabbath, September 7th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Friday, September 6th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) will be observing the Holy Days a month later this year. The Jewish Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is two days early in the fall this year.

I received an interesting email from a newsletter reader.

Hello Frank,

I spoke to someone about your belief as to when the Passover and Unleavened Bread were to be celebrated and they thought that you might be a Lunar Sabbath believer......is this statement true? Thank you, Yours in the Messiah Yahshua, xxx

I wrote:

Dear xxx,

It is good to hear from you. It is not good to hear this unfounded accusation I believe in the Lunar Sabbath. Absolutely not! This deception is embraced by many who are open to new light but I don't fall for it. I have addressed this error consistently in my books and newsletters such as:

http://www.iaua.name/Archives/2010-05-15.html "Lunarism/Lunacism"

and again:

http://www.iaua.name/Archives/2012/2012-04-13.html "No Light"

I hope they were not trying to discredit my studies by associating me with disreputable elements. I suspect this was discussed at the recent Bible Explorations Unleavened Bread camp meeting. There are many associated with Bible Explorations who reject anything I say because I don't believe in the Millerite calendar as they do. I have taught extensively concerning the truths revealed by my studies. I also believe in a Godhead of three persons which John Vandenburgh does not. Those who struggle to find all truth are often rejected. I have never been allowed to present at Bible Explorations though John Vandenburgh is well aware of my ministry, my studies, my newsletters, and my books.

In spite of their rejection and errors I support BETV with thousands of dollars a year because they are spreading some truth and some new light. I also work for 3ABN even though they spread the lie that the Law of Moses is nailed to the cross. Both BETV and 3ABN do a mighty work for God in spite of some errors. None of us are perfect, myself included.

Thank you for allowing me to clear up this misconception. I do not hide any of my beliefs or avoid any subject. I have spoken all the truth from my studies in my newsletters, on my websites, and in my books. Only in person or in other forums do I ever try to avoid subjects which will lead to disagreement and confrontation. I got myself in a little bit of trouble quoting something controversial from the Bible in Sabbath School class yesterday. God is still working with me...

Be at peace,

I am continuing with a point by point examination of the "Sacred Name Concerns" document mentioned in the last newsletter. Quoting from the "Sacred Name Concerns" presentation:

http://www.tnnonline.net/god-salvation/sacred-name-concerns/

"How many of you have been in a Messianic religious setting as of late where you have heard someone use the words God, or Lord, or even Jesus Christ—and then someone gets up and publicly chastises the person? How many of you have been told that if you do not use Hebraic names and terms for the Father and the Son that your prayers will neither be heard nor answered? How many of you have seen people forget the love and compassion of our Savior, and whose faith is now tied up in pronouncing His name “correctly”?"

I am returning to the first paragraph with a comment on the use of the word “correctly”. There is a risk that the view of the reader is being subtly poisoned by shaping the focus of coming arguments on a technical note of precision of pronunciation. Let me state that my purpose is not to identify or proclaim an absolutely “correct” pronunciation but rather the most reasonable approximation of the pronunciation we can determine. It is of no concern to me whether this pronunciation matches tradition or not.

"Sadly, these sorts of occurrences are becoming more and more commonplace in certain sectors of the Messianic community. As our Heavenly Father is in the process of restoring His people, many have taken the message of Torah obedience and have abused it. They have removed the message from its original, First Century Jewish context, and are doing things that are foreign to the orthopraxy of the Apostles. In so doing, they have brought disrepute to the Messianic movement and a foul spirit into the camp. They have defamed the name of God, rather than respect it."

Don't let that word "orthopraxy" scare you. It simply means correctness or orthodoxy of action or practice. It is highly unfortunate the author chooses to use a word which is likely to be outside the vocabulary of most of his audience. This is an unfortunate problem with people who seem to be overly impressed with their education and ability and they seem to want to impress you. I am not impressed.

We need to keep in mind there are several different issues being rolled into one package in this presentation. Each is addressed individually but some comments might be misunderstood in their focus. This is my breakdown of these issues:

  1. Condemning the use of the common English words God, Lord, and Jesus Christ as pagan. Requiring, expecting, or using Hebrew words for acceptable communication with God. The author and I both disagree with these practices.
  2. Avoiding any use in speaking or writing of the Sacred Name of God. The author speaks at great length in apparent defense of this tradition of Judaism but it is not clear if he agrees or disagrees with this tradition. He certainly does not practice the tradition in this presentation. I do not agree with the tradition and I do not defend it.
  3. Seeking a better understanding and encouraging the use of the best pronunciation available of the Sacred Name of God and the Messiah. The author discourages this and defends the traditional viewpoints. However, I am completely in support of the idea of seeking and encouraging a better understanding. Take careful note of the difference in my view between the value and importance of using the correct Hebrew names and the optional use of Hebrew words in a general setting.
  4. An extreme view that you must use the prescribed Sacred Name of God and the Messiah in order to be heard by God and saved. The author and I strongly disagree with this idea.

What is your definition of respect for the Sacred Name of God?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
