Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 21st day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi.

The Spring Holy Day season begins the New Year in 7 weeks and 4 days with Passover on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 15th on the 2014, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Monday, April 14th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is the same in the spring this year.

I am tickled that the numbering of the days in this month and the first month of April matches the numbering of the days on God's Calendar. The month of April on the Gregorian Calendar this year matches the first month of God's Calendar. Do you think this is silly?

I was deeply distressed in Sabbath School last week. That night I had a disturbing dream and I awoke with my mind in a turmoil. In Sabbath School I heard one person after another make bolder and bolder statements that God has changed and Jesus had to make adjustments in God's Law. Death was no longer the penalty for sin but mercy has triumphed and is now to be emphasized more than the penalty of the Law of Moses.

I try to avoid saying too much in Sabbath School since my understanding of God's Word differs so greatly from others. There are also several people who are so insistent that they must be heard and I do not try to make sure I am heard. I said nothing in this particular Sabbath School class because I was appalled at what I was hearing but I know this is the result of the teaching that the Law of Moses is nailed to the cross. I was troubled with the thought that I should have said something.

God does not change! The penalty of the Law has always been balanced with God's mercy. The Jews placed emphasis on the Law without mercy. The modern church places emphasis on mercy without the Law. Our Savior struggled to emphasize the Law and mercy. So few people truly understand.

I have addressed this topic in general in the 2011-07-22 newsletter titled "Changes". In this newsletter I will focus a little more closely using the words of the Bible and Ellen White. God says "I change not"! This first quote is mostly Ellen quoting the Bible.

_____

"Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in; behold, he shall come saith the Lord of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years. And I will come near to you in judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." {SW, January 15, 1907 par. 3} {RH, January 17, 1907 par. 3}

Those who are living upon the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent efforts, they must be conquerors in the battle with evil. While the investigative judgment is going forward in heaven, while the sins of penitent believers are being removed from the sanctuary, there is to be a special work of purification, of putting away sin, among God's people on earth. {SW, January 15, 1907 par. 4} {RH, January 17, 1907 par. 4} similar to {GC88 425.1} {GC 425.1} {SW, January 24, 1905 par. 6}

The next verses in the quote from the Bible of Malachi 3 focus on tithes and offerings but the context clearly is about more.

_____

The Lord has always required this response to His arrangements in carrying forward His work in our world. He has never changed His own devised plan. He lays claim to all as His own, and of that entrusted to man, He claims His portion. "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from Mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts." {TM 306.1}

Those who plead that they cannot understand this plain and decisive statement--which, if they are obedient, means so much to them in blessings which will be received, when even the windows of heaven will be opened and blessings poured out to overflowing--are not honest before God. Their excuse that they did not know the will of God will be of no avail for them in the great day of judgment. {TM 306.2}

_____

We can pray for God's blessing all we want but what do we expect if we refuse to do His will and obey what He says, nailing His word to the cross or simply ignoring it. Sometimes, God in His mercy and love does bless us anyway. How much more would He bless us, if we just did what He says.

_____

It is the selfishness, the unsanctified thoughts and works, that have grieved the Lord, and have turned away his blessing from his people. The third chapter of Malachi is one of weighty importance to all who live upon the earth; for here is plainly revealed the will and purpose of God, and the turning away of those who claim to be the people of the Lord into false and forbidden paths. Will you take your Bible and read this carefully and solemnly, under the influence of the Holy Spirit of God. Make an application to yourself of these decisive words. Verse 5 it applicable to many: "I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of Hosts." There is a work of restoration to be done before God will accept the repentance, or heal the wounds that sin has made. "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed [in your evil doings]. Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of Hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?" {PH087 4.1}

Some other Bible verses that repeat the theme.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Yes, it is in the Renewed Testament as well as the Original Testament.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Some incredibly powerful questions.

_____

Why delay? Why go on in weakness? Why not cast your soul in all its helplessness upon Christ, and lay hold on the merits of his precious blood? He waits to receive you. He longs to help you. And when the soul temple is cleansed from every defilement, you will have a new and precious experience. The Lord says: "Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years." But if the work of repentance and reformation is neglected, if you pass on your way, sinning in word and action, the Lord says: "I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." {ST, January 6, 1890 par. 6}

Do you think God changes His requirements?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
